The Magic Lantern has two beautiful outdoor bars. The Secret Garden & Sundowners.
These bars are generally open whenever we are showing a film but sadly, only if it's not raining!
We offer a wide range of cocktails and mocktails, wines, welsh ales, lagers, a huge selection of gins, rums, whiskies, spirits and even a rather spectacular Absinthe fountain!
We also offer a selection of nibbles to snack on - nachos, cheeseboards, nibble platters and a lovely selection of ice cream and sweets including a great range of vegan options.
We also serve hot drinks, soda floats and soft drinks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book?
No, we don’t take bookings. It’s first come first served unless you are bringing a party of 10 or more.
Can I bring children?
Absolutely – children are very welcome
Can I bring dogs?
Of course, but please keep them on a lead.
Toilets
As the cinema is now open our toilets are not available to people using the bar– please use the public toilets at the side of the cinema.
How does it work?
When you arrive, simply find a table in the garden. Take a look at the menu on the table and then make a note of your table name and come to the cinema box office to place your order. We accept cash or cards.
Your drinks will then be delivered to you at your table.
Why do you close at certain times?
Because we are primarily a cinema and not a bar. In the hour before a film screening we are generally very busy serving our cinema goers and we do not have the resources to serve people in the cinema and the garden at the same time...trust us, we have tried everything we can think of but we just can't do both!
Our opening times do state the periods each day when we close the bar for service, we suggest you avoid arriving during this period but please do feel free to come before and double up your order...you are very welcome to stay in the garden when the bar is closed.
We can't wait to see you!
