Let's face it, there's not a lot of money slooshing about at the moment - but you still deserve a bit of fun and a good night out, and that's where we come in!

As we have given up all hope of profit, and run the Lantern out of pure love and a massive lump of cash that the owners found under the floorboards when they bought the place - we aim to keep our nights out affordable and accessible to all!

Our Cinema prices are about the lowest you will find anywhere. Our Bar isn't expensive, our food isn't extortionate ...

So next time you are looking for a top night out, think Magic Lantern!

Lantern Lit events £3 (Free if you have attended the movie)

If you fancy a birthday party with a difference then howabout hiring a fab victorian cinema?

We can show your favourite film to you and your friends, we have a great bar and sound systems and we reckon you would be pushed to find a cooler venue anywhere in the UK!

And if you fancy yourself as an event promoter, why not work with us to put on a great night of your own at the Lantern.

Whatever you are in to - within the bounds of health and safety and public decency of course - the Magic Lantern is there as a brilliant backdrop to your fantastic event!

We show movies 7 nights a week unless there's a special live event scheduled..

In school holidays we also have matinee showings - usually at 4.30pm (doors open at 4.00pm).

Throught the year we have "Screamer" showings - generally at 12.00noon. These are specifically for parents with pre-school children ... and often feature wonderful homemade cake!!!
