The Melodic (formerly Melodica, Melody and Me) are playing our 3rd Birthday Party at the Lantern on Friday 24th May. they are simply sublime, and will be supported by at least two other bands! Come along for the best night out of the year (in Gwynedd!) ... 7.30pm start, £5 entry!
Our legendary open mic nights ("Live@the Lantern") continue throughout the year, so put the second Friday in the Month in your Diary! These are always wonderful nights out!!

Robin Ince was super-fantastic ... and we are now more determined than ever to bring the best of the UK comedy circuit to Tywyn!!
More seriously brilliant stand-ups will (hopefully) be taking to the Lantern Main Stage in 2013, as word spreads about how great the venue is ... watch this space!!

This Spring/Summer is shaping up to be a very lively one for Live events at the magic Lantern.
"Lantern Lit" is our well-established Poetry and Prose-based session.
The Magic Lantern is a great venue for all kinds of live events
The Lantern Hall stage can take a big band, the Magic Bar stage can showcase a single instrumentalist, small group or an up-and-coming comedian.
So get you thinking caps on, and Email any ideas you may have to us via the "Contact" page.
We are looking for Promoters, entrepreneurs, and people with drive and passion, to get these live events up and running!
Get involved - and make sure whatever you love comes to Tywyn! We will make it happen!

There are some wonderful live events coming up at the Magic Lantern over next few months.
Friday 24th May: The Melodic play at our fantastic 3rd Birthday Party at the Lantern. The Melodic are a wonderful 4 piece that we first saw in Edinburgh a couple of years ago ... if you liked John Smith you will LOVE these guys ... starts 7.30pm ... click on the video and see what you think! This is going to be a fab summery night ... with hibiscus marguritas and a whole lot more! Tickets £5 available from the Cinema shortly! The Big Names are starting to stack up - and we have already had some top acts this year ... Robin Ince, Josie Long and John Smith at the Lantern and Vamos Theatre as a "Magic Lantern Presents" event at YPlas in Machynlleth (see above) ... there will be lots more to get excited about - watch this space!

The Open Mic Nights in the new Magic Bar are fantastic. This is now a regular monthly session - so come along from 9pm - 12pm and enjoy great music in fab surroundings!
